Black Lives Matter

Feed Your Hospital was founded to support Asian restaurants and underserved communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. We stand in solidarity against systemic racism, racial discrimination, and police brutality. We want to use our platform and resources to support the Black community by identifying new partnerships and reevaluating our current hospital partners. We are proud of our FYH volunteers around the country who have taken it upon themselves to identify internal and external opportunities to support the Black community. To that end, here are our official statements:

1. Black issues are our issues

We stand in solidarity against systemic racism, racial discrimination, and police brutality. Our leaders and volunteers at Feed Your Hospital are predominantly Asian American. Asian Americans have benefited from the work of Black activists, academics, educators, politicians, legislators, community organizers, and artists. Black leaders have paved the road for us to enjoy many opportunities, rights and protections. As we have benefited, so too must we join in the fight.

2. Words alone are not enough

We must do more than just post #BlackLivesMatter. Signing petitions, donating, talking to our representatives, talking to our loved ones, and talking to our communities are a few of the ways we have sought to grow a lasting movement and societal change.

3. Listening is just the first step

At Feed Your Hospital, we are actively having conversations with our volunteers and partners on our role in supporting the Black community. We have been learning, reflecting, giving, and most importantly, listening. Thank you for giving us the space to thoughtfully respond and act. We want to use our platform and resources to support the Black community by identifying new partnerships and reevaluating our current hospital  partners.
