The DMV AAPI Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

This year, nine (9) Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) organizations in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area are partnering with each other to kick off a fundraiser for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Artist Jennifer Kumura (@JennKu) designed two versions of a Solidarity T-shirt to honor our shared heritage and show our solidarity with AAPI communities facing hate crimes and discrimination.

Order your t-shirt today before supplies run out! All proceeds will go towards Feed Your Hospital Greater Washington to feed healthcare workers and Asian Americans Advancing Justice to support victims of discrimination. For many of us, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month means celebrating both our Asian culture as well as our American values. We're so excited to join forces with so many different AAPI organizations to give back to our community in two different but very important ways.

What is Feed Your Hospital?

Feed Your Hospital delivers meals to healthcare workers on the frontline of COVID-19 by supporting local Asian restaurants in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Where does the money go?

Your donations will go directly to Feed Your Hospital Greater Washington, who collaborates with restaurants in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia to develop special menu options for hospital deliveries, and coordinates deliveries directly with local hospitals. Credit card fees (4%) apply for each donation. Feed Your Hospital is 100% volunteer-run.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Feed Your Hospital is fiscally sponsored by the Ascend Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. For all donations, you will receive an official Ascend Foundation letter via e-mail acknowledging your donation, which can be used for tax purposes.

How can I give a large donation?

For large donations, you can help us save on credit card fees by sending a check to the Ascend Foundation, and noting “Feed Your Hospital - APEX” in the memo line (Address: 160 Broadway 6th Floor E Bldg, New York, NY 10038).
