Target Hunger
Who can get help: Target hunger serves vulnerable community members including homebound seniors, families whose children are now home from school, those who have lost their jobs or whose wages are reduced, and those who do not have resources.
What: Target Hunger serves food-insecure people and distributes more than four (4) million pounds of food annually. This distribution of nutritious food is accomplished through six food pantries, educational food fairs, an extensive senior home delivery program, collaboration with 10 senior day sites, the Willie H. & Gladys R. Goffney Community Garden and participation in the USDA Commodities Program.

NYC Small Business Services - Continuity Loan Fund
What: NYC Employee Retention Grant Program to help retain employees as businesses face decreased revenue.
Who: This program is available to New York City businesses with one to four employees that can demonstrate at least a 25% decrease in revenue as a result of COVID-19. Eligible businesses will receive a grant covering up to 40% of their payroll for two months. Businesses can access up to $27,000.
NYC Small Business Services - Employee Retention Grant Program
Who: Financial resources from the City of New York for both employees and employers affected by the COVID-19 virus, businesses (employers) who have 1-4 employees can receive financial help .
What: The City is offering small businesses with fewer than 5 employees a grant to cover 40% of payroll costs for two months to help retain employees.
Opportunity Fund
Who can get help: Small businesses and entrepreneurs
What: The Opportunity Fund is a microfinance institution that typically lends to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Small businesses can apply to this organization to acquire loans to help them through the COVID-19 outbreak. Loans are typically geared toward entrepreneurs.
Employment Development Department State of California
Who: Financial resources from the State of California for both employees and employers affected by the COVID-19 virus, businesses (employers) can receive financial help as well as employees.
What: The resource is to provide employees with unemployment benefits, allowing the to keep their current job, and avoid financial hardships. The employers benefit because they can minimize or eliminate the need for layoffs, keep employees trained for when conditions improve and avoid costs of recruiting, hiring, and training new employees. Chicago Emergency Rental Assistance
Who: Residents of Chicago
What: Rent and rent arrears payment is available for individuals and families that are in immediate risk of eviction. The program does NOT pay security deposits. Payment will be made to property owner/manager, 7 to 10 days from the date the application is approved. Property owners must agree to participate in the program and cannot be a relative of the applicant or live in the household of the applicant. In addition, eligible applicants must demonstrate an ability to meet rent payments after assistance has been granted – based on the applicant’s current or anticipated income.

What: Restaurants Care is currently evaluating grant requests from California restaurant workers who have been impacted by the coronavirus in the following ways in order of priority to serve the most vulnerable first.
The Safety Net Fund
Who can get help: Artists in the Bay Area
What: This fund will offer grants to artists, with no expectation of repayment, to help provide direct monetary support through this crisis. This money is offered with the intent of helping artists survive and continue to create despite the maelstrom. The maximum grant is $500 per person per month, and the number of grants per month is dependent upon the funds raised.
