Help Vanderbilt’s Asian American Student Association Feed Frontline Healthcare Workers
To my friends at Vanderbilt and beyond,
As an Asian-American, local Asian restaurants have been key to my identity and culture. Food has always been an expression of care for me. When I first came to Nashville, I sorely missed home. Going to local Asian restaurants in Nashville and eating familiar dishes offered me a great deal of comfort.
This is why I’m supporting and publicizing Feed Your Hospital as our final post for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM). Lockdowns across the country have forced Asian restaurants to close their doors — with a very high possibility of permanent closures.
Feed Your Hospital keeps these restaurants afloat by gathering donations to pay for meals for frontline COVID-19 healthcare workers. Restaurant owners can restore wages to workers while creating hearty meals to support doctors and nurses who might be working 16 hour shifts.
APAHM team is starting off with a donation of $30 with the ultimate goal of raising $1000. Here’s the catch: for every donation made until July 15th, APAHM team will each match it for $1-- that’s a total of $3 per donation!

What is Feed Your Hospital?
Feed Your Hospital delivers meals to healthcare workers on the frontline of COVID-19 by supporting local Asian restaurants across the country.
Where does the money go?
Your donations will go directly to Feed Your Hospital, who collaborates with restaurants in Nashville, TN to develop special menu options for hospital deliveries, and coordinates deliveries directly with local hospitals. Credit card fees (4%) apply for each donation. Feed Your Hospital is 100% volunteer-run.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Feed Your Hospital is fiscally sponsored by the Ascend Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. For all donations, you will receive an official Ascend Foundation letter via e-mail acknowledging your donation, which can be used for tax purposes.
How can I give a large donation?
For large donations, you can help us save on credit card fees by sending a check to the Ascend Foundation, and noting “Feed Your Hospital - Vanderbilt AASA” in the memo line (Address: 160 Broadway 6th Floor E Bldg, New York, NY 10038). If you would like to directly wire the money, donate through your charitable trust, or donate through another means, please e-mail us at feedyourhospital@gmail.com.
